Hey Guys, welcome to Day 3 of “7 Days of skincare”. Today I am reviewing one of my holy grail products. It’s a peeling solution from the brand The Ordinary. This brand has me so surprised with their products. They produce high quality clinical skincare products at affordable prices. They have a huge range of products, and are Free of mineral oils, parabens and sulphates. I have been using a bunch of products from them, and this one is my favourite.

What I think:
I have extremely sensitive, dry skin. Dry skin needs regular exfoliation to get rid of dead skin cells, but given how sensitive my skin is, I don’t like using physical exfoliants or scrubs on my face. I prefer chemical exfoliation, it does the job and does not give me any issues.
The product comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. Not the most travel friendly, but very easy to use. The product itself has a very interesting texture. It is a semi thick liquid with some stickiness to it, and the colour is what makes it a little creepy. It is deep red in colour, and given the texture, it almost feels like blood. Not going to lie, I kind of bought it because of how it looked, but boy am I glad I did.
To use it, you need to apply a thin layer all over your face, I use my fingers for the same. The instructions say not to leave it for more than 10 minutes. I always leave it for 9 minutes, better safe than sorry. Please set a timer as soon as you apply it, it’s a chemical exfoliant, it can very easily irritate your skin if left for too long.
It has tingle sensation when you put it on, which is why, if you have active acne or any burn or cut on your skin, I would say avoid using it till your skin heals. If applied on a cut, it will burn for sure. After 9 minutes of application, I wash it with normal water and pat dry my skin.
What is revealed post wash is the most soft and smooth skin you’ll ever get. I LOVE how it makes my skin fresh and baby like.
I use it once in a week, never more than that. And also, I do not recommend following up with any more exfoliating products, like toners or acidic solutions. Apply a lot of moisturiser post application, and preferably do this process in the night. The next day, do not skip your sunscreen if you are stepping out, chemical exfoliation can leave skin a little sensitive.
On days when I have some special event, I use it a night before on my skin and on the day, my makeup goes on sooooo flawless, I cannot even begin to describe.
I would also recommend using a sheet mask after removing this, if you are really in a mood for pampering your skin. I am so in love with this one, I have already ordered a back up.
Note: Please do a patch test on your skin before you use it all over your face, different skin reacts differently to every product. What suits me, may not suit you.
